Government facilitates such registration free of cost to bring into coverage even the new ventures.Though such registration is not made mandatory by Government, but is beneficial for small enterprises to avail various benefits and incentives from government and financial institutions. Enterprises engaged in manufacturing, trading or into service industry, can all apply for MSME Registration (UDYAM Registration). This is registration process to be done online on the (UDYAM Registration) MSME Registration online portal with no requirement of uploading supporting documents, only self declaration is required. Upon registration a permanent identity number is issued to the enterprises, known as UDYAM Registration Number. UDYAM certificate (e-copy) can be downloaded on completion of the registration process. The registering enterprise can add any number of activities in one registration including manufacturing or services or both. This means only one MSME UDYAM Registration can be done by an enterprise.
Cost of Digital Signature, Government Fees and Stamp Duty, if any, is payable by the client in addition to the Professional Fee being charged by indian MSME Helpline.
Brief Process
- This process is completely online and done on the UDYAM Registration portal

- Step 1. The registering enterprise needs to enter Aadhaar Number and name as per Aadhaar of the authorized person as follows to initiate the process:
- Aadhaar number of proprietor, Karta (in case of HUF), Managing Partner (in case of Partnership firm), Authorised signatory (in case of Company/ LLP/ Trust/Society/ etc.) is required to be entered.
- Step 2. Upon entering the above information, OTP (One Time Password) is sent on registered mobile of such person. One can then proceed with the registration process by entering the information as asked there in.
- Step 3. Once details are completed, the process of registration can be completed by submitting it through final OTP received.
